Hello CMYKA! Greetings from a Filipino-American designer based in Virginia, USA. I'm in love with your exercise pieces especially since your solutions show the flexibility of Univers and that good design does not require tons of color and a novelty typeface. I've been struggling to find graphic design from the Philippines that I really admire and I think I've found it here with your work. I'm excited for your portfolio website and to see your other style of work.

One question: What made you decide to choose the constraints for your exercises?

Keep doing what you do! It's refreshing to see great design from the motherland. :D

Hello, Ces-ley!

Again, thank you for the very kind words. Truly appreciate it.

Regarding the project constraints, I initially put them down to save myself time as selecting type, colors, etc. can sometimes take forever. I’m in love with black and white and the look of pre-digital graphic design, so the parameters were there to make drabbling easy and convenient for me.

I was getting too comfortable with that setup however, so I’ve decided to bring in colors and other typefaces to give myself a hard time. Lol. I’m sorry to disappoint other color-shunners but I need to impose this on myself in order to improve ;)

Do enjoy and make the most of your design education over there! I’d sell an organ just to get a formal design education abroad. :)

Cheers,

Myka

PS.
I dropped you a note before I noticed you left me a message in the Ask box, so pardon the spam!
